I am curious about students’ prospectives on visual art. I ask Cindy Seide, a student from Binghamton High School, “How are students affected when it comes to visual art?” She replied, “It’s amazing and fun and helps them in so many ways.” Cindy goes on to describe how she sees visual arts. “It’s an art a lot of students in Binghamton take to express themselves and relate.”
I wanted to know if students take art because it’s fun or just for a grade. Cindy acknowledges that she can’t talk for everyone, but for herself she took art because it is fun and because she love art . “It helps students mentally and physically,” she said. The purpose of visual art is “to express feelings or sometimes when someone is really shy, they can express their feelings through art.”
Talking for myself, I’ve always been interested in art even though I’ve never taken art during the school year. But I watch what students have accomplished during the school year, and I can see myself doing it too. There are so many different parts of art you can use to express yourself.
If I was going to describe art, I would say it helps you mentally and physically. I see art as a way to express feelings. If your shy and don’t like to speak in front of people or can’t speak English clearly, art can be how you communicate. Art is a beautiful thing.
