Why Do You Dance?
By Rachel J
Have you ever heard of chorophobia? Chorophobia is the fear of dancing. Some people freeze up on the dance floor. Maybe it’s because they think they are going to look stupid. Dancing comes easy for people with confidence. Sometimes when little kids come to dance class for the first time they are really shy. Little Elizabeth wasn’t shy at all her first dance class. Her favorite part of dance class is head shoulders knees and toes. It takes most kids a little bit to feel comfortable enough to come and dance.
What makes people want to dance? Some people like Bailee, who has been dancing for 10 years, dances because she says its fun. She wants to be on Cirque du Soeil. People dance for all different types of reasons. Emily Nickerson dances to express herself.
Music makes people want to dance. Music can change the way people dance as well. Dance changes because people get bored and move on to something they think is better. Some people dance when they are happy. Generations change the way people dance.
I’ve been dancing since I was three. I hardly have any free time. Being in the same class as my friends make dancing still so much fun. Going to a dance competition is when all the hard work pays off. Competing is my favorite. I love doing my hair, putting on the makeup, and dancing full-out for the judges.
